Solihull Approach Online Courses

Devon Local Maternity Services have purchased a multi-user licence for four Solihull Approach online courses for all parents, parents-to-be, grandparents and carers living in Plymouth, Devon, Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly.

  • Understanding your pregnancy, birth, labour and your baby
  • Understanding your baby
  • Understanding your child (0-19 years)
  • Understanding your teenagers brain

Written by Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) professionals with other health and education workers, the Solihull Approach aims to improve emotional health and wellbeing by supporting family relationships. Courses are evidence based and accredited by the Department of Education.

Great Expectations Antenatal Programme

Livewell South West in partnership with local children’s centres run a free antenatal programme called Great Expectations for expectant parents-to-be in Plymouth. The four week course consists of a two-hour session per week and aims to provide parents-to-be with useful information and practical skills to help them feel more confident about making choices for their new arrival.

Happy Families, Happy Futures

Are you a parent or expecting a baby and struggling with your relationships? If so the Happy Families, Happy Futures programme is designed to improve communication and ease tension between parents/carers to provide a happy environment for their children. The focus is on supporting parents and carers who are in a relationship or separated.
